Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor, speaker, consultant, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm within a short time. Corcoran was one of ABC's initial Shark investors was a featured guest of every episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, the biggest being a $350,000 investment which was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 children born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class in Edgewater, New Jersey.  Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran's childhood. Her family often relied on the free food delivery from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father as an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially when the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling and later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was a student at an Catholic elementary school in her community and began the high school year in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her first year of high school, was moved to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
